About Us

Street Chess is a volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through the game of chess. By using chess as an educational tool, we cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and resilience—skills essential for lifelong success. In alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education for All, we bridge educational gaps and create opportunities for young minds to thrive.

Founded by Candidate Master Joseph Jamena Mensah, Street Chess believes in chess as a universal equalizer, breaking social and economic barriers to provide every child with a fair chance to excel. More than a game, it is a pathway to leadership and success.

We invite sponsors, donors, partners and volunteers to join us in this transformative journey. With your support, Street Chess will inspire a new generation of thinkers and leaders, leaving a lasting impact on communities worldwide. Together, we can make a difference - one move at a time.
